Auction has been revised, he'll take 120 without the phragms which starts to make it look a good bit better

not me but it sure is tempting. I already have the 902s but how do they compare? phenolic vs aluminum?

Do you mean symbiotik or pascalite?phenolic vs aluminum?
These worn old ears used to detect a marginal difference between pascalite and aluminum with the aluminum being a tad more airy and extended in the upper regions. We're talking about a small difference here. Not really sure i would hear a difference worthy of remark today.
It would be interesting to see factory FR plots for both the 902 and the 909, but i only find one for the 909. Claimed FR for both is the same. But, that doesn't do anything to illustrate the subtle differences that "should" exist.

Its early here I was thinking of pascalite.![]()

I wonder if he's a member here maybe a lurker and he read this thread (which encouraged him to lower the price given the fact that they have "cheapie" frams). Let's test this theory. A DOLLAR EACH WOULD BE A GOOD PRICE!The other items he has up for sale are music related as well--I never knew that some Klipsch speakers used University h.f. drivers. Somewhat "sneaky" that the way he's got these University drivers listed, they come up in search results for Altec 802 or Altec 288. He also calls them Altec-Ling HF drivers and not University, which is of course what they really are....

120 and 200 for new frams is 320- good pairs are stil out there at 250, but then new frams would be literally like new drivers...
Your neighbors called. They like your music.
Well, I confess... I did! Just sent him a message and asked where the loading caps were and why the wrong diaphragms. He seems like a nice guy. I was interested in the drivers only until I saw there was no loading caps, etc. Then I found a set of 902-8B drivers with original diaphragms and they were mounted to Mantaray horns (model 14 style). So I just got those. Can't wait to get them to see how different they sound from my 806 and 808 drivers (811B and 511B horns).
Interesting, the auction listing has 3 different pics showing new style loading caps.
